ISLAND TRANSPORT

To travel on or around the Island one can use taxis or charter a boat.

It is possible to arrange to bring a vehicle to Inhaca Island but the effort and time is normally not worth the effort.

If you wish to bring a vehicle like a camper, one will have to drive to Santa Maria through the Elephant Park (+- 4 hour trip from Maputo) and then arrange for a Dhow to bring the vehicle over to the island. Should you wish to do this, contact us and we can advise and arrange.

Road Transport

Most lodges have their own transport for guests. Transport to the village and back is normally part of the accommodation fee but excursions will be extra. Please check with your resort.

Please note that quad bikes are not available for rental. The Island tries to keep unnecessary noise pollution like quad bikes away from the island. Strict road rules  apply.

Taxis

Taxis can be arranged for excursions or to be transported to specific places.

Please note that we have verified the taxi operators and check on them regularly to ensure that they can provide the service.. There is a rating option – please use it for negative and positive feedback.

Sea Transport

Boat charter available –

The majority of boats are known as banana boats, they can take between 6 and 8 passengers. Rates are normally for the boat. Ski boats are available and the majority of lodges will have one for charter.
